The Denver Broncos beat the Carolina Panthers 26-21 on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, winning their fifth straight game to improve to 7-2 and stay atop the AFC West, while Carolina lost its third straight and fell to 3-5 in a Week 9 NFL matchup.

Denver scored on its first two possessions for a 10-0 lead, on a 26-yard Wil Lutz field goal and Bo Nix's 3-yard touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton. Nix's streak of 180 passes without an interception ended in the second quarter on a pick by Corey Thornton, Bryce Young threw a touchdown pass to Tommy Tremble, and Lutz's 48-yard field goal made it 13-7 at halftime.

Young's 15-yard touchdown pass to Darren Waller put Carolina ahead 14-13 in the third quarter. Denver answered in the fourth with a 17-play, 80-yard drive capped by Jonah Coleman's 9-yard touchdown run, and Nix's 26-yard touchdown pass to Pat Bryant with 5:41 left made it 26-14. Young's 4-yard touchdown pass to Tetairoa McMillan with 3:05 left cut it to 26-21.

After a botched pitch gave Carolina one last chance, Nik Bonitto strip-sacked Young and recovered the fumble with 1:18 remaining to seal the win. Nix finished 25-of-37 for 237 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Young was 28-of-39 for 276 yards with three touchdowns and an interception, and the Panthers committed 13 penalties for 119 yards.

It was Denver's 16th straight win in a one-score game, an NFL record, and Nix's 17th consecutive one-score win, the longest such streak since 1950. The Broncos have a bye next week before facing Las Vegas in Week 11. Carolina visits New Orleans on November 15.
