CORVALLIS, Oregon — Oregon State University released early figures for fall 2026 enrollment: total enrollment across the university is 37,460 students, slightly lower than last year’s record number, and OSU remains Oregon’s largest university for the 13th straight year, with students from all 36 Oregon counties, all 50 states and more than 100 countries. About 25,000 students are on campus in Corvallis, a little under 11,000 are fully remote through Ecampus programs, and about 1,250 are at OSU-Cascades in Bend.

Including non-degree and readmitted students, about 10,000 new students enrolled this fall, just exceeding the university’s largest-ever new class in fall 2024. The total new undergraduate population — across Corvallis, OSU-Cascades and Ecampus — is tracking 7% higher than last fall. President Jayathi Murthy said the university is dedicated to students’ success and ambitions, and that from semiconductors to sustainable agriculture, Oregon State prepares students for today’s economy and fuels the state’s workforce.

On international enrollment, the university said the decline is largely concentrated in graduate enrollment, where international enrollment fell 21%, reflecting challenges including visa procedure delays and denials; international undergraduate enrollment, by contrast, increased 6% since last fall. Other figures: nonresident undergraduates at the Corvallis campus rose 4.5%; 47% of undergraduates and 64% of graduate students across all campuses are nonresidents; transfer enrollment is up 2% across all campuses; headcount in professional programs including pharmacy, veterinary medicine and physical therapy is up 6%; and about 23% of undergraduates are first-generation college students. The university said official enrollment would be finalized in late October, during the fourth week of fall term.
