LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — The 2026 Kentucky Veterans Parade and celebration took place on November 7 in Louisville's NuLu district, honoring veterans and current service members of World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. NuLu is a commercial and cultural district just east of downtown Louisville. The event's 'Heroes Among Us' recognition program, held each year during the parade, showcased Kentucky service members whose military careers span more than eighty years. As one of Louisville's official events marking America's 250th anniversary, the parade linked today's service members with the forebears who fought for American independence. The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, a long-established patriotic organization, served as grand marshal. With Veterans Day falling on November 11, the parade was among Louisville's early commemorations; a celebration followed, bringing service members and residents together. Organizers said the parade lets the community thank service members of every era and shows younger generations what military service means.
