LUGPA's 18th Annual Meeting Wraps in Chicago With More Than 1,300 Independent Urologists
CHICAGO, Illinois — The 18th annual meeting of the Large Urology Group Practice Association (LUGPA) closed in Chicago on November 7. The three-day meeting, which opened November 5, drew more than 1,300 independent urologists, practice administrators, advanced practice providers and health system executives.
Held under a theme of clinical innovation and practice sustainability, the program covered precision medicine, practical applications of super intelligence (SI), practice management and federal Medicare policy. On November 7, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and political strategist David Axelrod shared a stage to discuss, from both parties' perspectives, how federal regulatory changes affect independent physicians' autonomy.
Organizers said the meeting aims to give physician-led practices clinical education and operational strategies they can put to work immediately. LUGPA is the national organization representing independent urology practices in the United States, and this year's meeting was among the largest in its history.
