Miami Book Fair Opens November 15: Nearly 500 Authors, Street Fair Free on Friday

The 43rd Miami Book Fair runs November 15-22, 2026, at Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida. The eight-day festival announced nearly 500 authors this year, including two-time Booker Prize winner Margaret Atwood, author of The Handmaid's Tale; two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Colson Whitehead; Booker Prize winner Marlon James; Tony Shalhoub; and Bonnie Garmus, author of Lessons in Chemistry, with programming in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
The fair opens Sunday, November 15, with a free street party built around Made in Miami, this year's music theme. The signature Evenings With series runs November 15-20 with Tony Shalhoub, Colson Whitehead, Elena Armas, Jeff Garlin and others. The three-day Street Fair, November 20-22, brings hundreds of booksellers and publishers to downtown streets, with a Children's Alley of interactive storytelling, live performances and hands-on science, and appearances by children's and young-adult authors including Meg Cabot of The Princess Diaries.
Street Fair admission is free on Friday, November 20. Saturday and Sunday tickets are $12, with $5 admission for ages 13-18 and $7 for seniors 62 and over; children 12 and under are always free, and multi-day passes are $18. Parking at the Wolfson Campus garage is free from November 15 to 22. “One of my favorite things about the Fair is seeing people come for a writer they love and discover someone they hadn't heard of,” said executive director Lissette Mendez.
Founded in 1984 by Miami Dade College and partners, the fair describes itself as the longest-running literary festival in the United States. This year's official poster, Foundation of Learning, designed by New World School of the Arts student Isabella Isaza, reimagines Miami's historic Freedom Tower as a structure built entirely from books.
