High-Speed Rear-End Crash on I-95 Kills Mother and Child; Stafford County Man Arrested

STAFFORD, Virginia — In the early hours of November 6, a fatal crash on the northbound Interstate 95 in Stafford County killed a mother and a young child, and a Stafford County man was arrested and charged the same day. Virginia State Police say a Dodge Charger sedan traveling at very high speed rear-ended a Nissan Rogue SUV, killing the mother and child inside at the scene and closing the northbound lanes of I-95. Police arrested the Stafford County man on November 6 on charges connected to the crash. State police continue to investigate how the crash occurred and have not yet released the names of those involved or formal charging details. Stafford County is in northern Virginia, and I-95 is the main artery between Washington and Richmond; the early-morning crash caused severe congestion on the stretch.
