22nd Chinese American Film Festival, Announced Oct. 29 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, to Open Nov. 10: Eric HZ to Give First Live Performance of Original Song 'Encounter' at Golden Angel Awards
On October 29, 2026, the 22nd Chinese American Film Festival and Chinese American Television Festival announced they will open in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, on November 10. Under this year's theme, "A Bridge of Screens, A World of Dreams," the festivals will continue to promote cultural exchange and collaboration between the film and television industries of China and the United States. Chinese-language singer-songwriter and music producer Eric HZ (Hechen Zhao) has been invited to return as a performer at the Golden Angel Awards ceremony following his appearance in 2025; this year he will give the first live performance of his original song "Encounter." The festivals will also feature singer Panda Hsiung (Xiong Tianping) and singer-songwriter Marina Yang Yang. Panda is known among Chinese-speaking audiences for songs including "Matchstick Paradise" and "Love Danube," while Marina Yang Yang continues to pursue songwriting and live performance. The organizers said cinema and music tell stories and preserve cultural memory through different art forms, and their convergence offers a new dimension for cross-cultural dialogue.
