Anthropic Cuts IPO Valuation Target to $1.5-1.6 Trillion as Q3 Revenue Reaches About $17 Billion

SAN FRANCISCO — Artificial-intelligence company Anthropic has cut the valuation target for its initial public offering from about $2 trillion to between $1.5 trillion and $1.6 trillion, Reuters and The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter; institutional investors taking part in the offering view the lower range as more reasonable.
An amended filing submitted by Anthropic on November 2 shows third-quarter revenue of about $17 billion ($16.96 billion), up 47% from the previous quarter though growing more slowly than before, and an operating loss of $567 million after a swing from profit. The company also disclosed computing and infrastructure purchase and lease commitments totaling $895.4 billion extending to 2045, of which about $447.5 billion is expected to fall due by the end of 2030.
Anthropic raised $65 billion in a Series H round in May at a $965 billion valuation; a $1.5 trillion listing would value it at roughly 1.6 times that round. The company plans to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker ANT, with Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley as joint lead underwriters. The roadshow is set to begin the week of November 9, with trading possible before Thanksgiving.
