SEMO and Mineral Area College Sign Transfer Pathway Agreement

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) and Mineral Area College (MAC) signed a partnership agreement on October 30 creating a structured pathway for community college students to earn a bachelor's degree, SEMO announced.
Under the agreement, MAC students working toward an associate degree can live in SEMO residence halls and take part in campus life while progressing toward the milestones for a bachelor's degree. After completing their associate degree and meeting SEMO's academic requirements, students transition with junior standing, and a formal articulation agreement guarantees transfer of the Associate of Arts degree.
MAC President Joe Gilgour called the agreement an example of expanding access to affordable, quality education by removing barriers. Both schools said the pathway lets students plan their studies with guaranteed transfer credits, avoiding the delays and added costs of retaking courses after transfer.
