'God of War Laufey' Delayed to May 20, 2027
The next God of War will take longer to arrive. Santa Monica Studio announced on November 4 that 'God of War Laufey' has been delayed: the PlayStation 5 exclusive will now launch on May 20, 2027, instead of February 16, 2027, a slip of about three months. The game was revealed at June's State of Play, and pre-orders opened on September 29.
'Laufey' is the first mainline entry in the series not led by Kratos: players take on the role of Faye (Laufey), Kratos's wife and Atreus's mother. In its statement, the studio thanked fans for their excitement since the reveal and said it would use every moment to add finishing touches and push the game to its fullest potential. It cited no specific technical or content problem, and announced no new trailer or showcase.
