Chinatown Office Complex at 130 College Street Approved: Five Stories, About 225,000 Square Feet

LOS ANGELES, California — A bus storage lot in Los Angeles's Chinatown is set to be replaced by a large office complex, according to reporting on October 30.
The Los Angeles City Planning Commission has approved the proposal for 130 West College Street, near Chinatown Station, between North Spring and North Main streets. The plan calls for a five-story building with roughly 225,000 square feet of offices above about 8,200 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, along with a parking garage for about 440 cars. The project was designed by the London firm Grimshaw, with the building mass stepping back from Bruno Street.
The project is backed by the Riboli family, owners of San Antonio Winery, which filed the original site application in 2023. It still requires general plan amendment and zone change approvals; city estimates suggest construction could be completed in 2028 if approvals proceed smoothly.
Several other large mixed-use projects are in planning or construction in Chinatown, and local Chinese businesses and residents will be watching the site's next steps.
