Dead Man's Bones, the duo of actor Ryan Gosling and Zach Shields, released the new single "Lost in the Night" on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, via ANTI- Records. It is the band's first new music in 17 years, since its self-titled debut album in 2009.

"Thanks for sticking with us all these years. New single, Lost In The Night. More coming soon," the band wrote in an October 27 social media post. According to the band's press release, after trying several Los Angeles studios without finding the sound they wanted, Gosling and Shields took two guitars, two drum machines and two synthesizers to a farm outside the city and recorded the song in a single day. Gosling and Shields produced the track and are credited as its composers and lyricists, with longtime collaborator Tim Anderson as executive producer, according to the official release credits published with the song.

The band describes the song as a shadowy but hopeful song about being alive and in love. A black-and-white music video released with the single stars actors Noah Jupe and Rain Spencer, who leave a cemetery behind and wander into the lamplit streets of a city. The single is also available on 12-inch vinyl through the band's official store.

Dead Man's Bones grew out of the pair's shared fascination with horror. Their 2009 debut album, also released by ANTI- Records, featured the Silverlake Conservatory of Music children's choir. The band has not announced a new album.
