Follow-Up: Trump Restores Weekend Rallies in Kansas and Iowa, With Back-to-Back Sunday Stops

Friday, October 30, 2026 · White House · GSM News

A White House official said on Friday, October 30, that President Donald Trump has restored the weekend campaign rallies he had canceled, and will hold back-to-back in-person rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday, days before the November 3 midterm elections, according to Reuters.

"Rallies are BACK ON! President Trump loves his supporters, and in addition to nearly 20 tele-rallies, he will hold back-to-back rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official said the rallies had been rearranged to accommodate the tele-rallies recently added to Trump's schedule.

The reversal came a day after Trump told reporters he did not "feel like I have to go to Kansas," where Republican Senator Roger Marshall faces an unexpectedly competitive race against Democrat Adam Hamilton. GSM reported on Thursday that Trump had canceled the planned weekend rallies in Salina, Kansas, and Dubuque, Iowa, in favor of tele-rallies, after holding 25 rallies since October 1.

On Friday, Trump campaigns in Florida, hoping to galvanize supporters in a state he won handily in 2024 but where early voting has tilted toward Democrats. It is his latest stop in a state Republicans usually expect to win, following campaign events earlier this week in Mississippi and South Carolina.

The November 3 midterm elections will decide whether Republicans keep their narrow majorities in both chambers of Congress.
