Follow-up: World Series Ticket Prices Plunge in Tampa on Oct. 25 as Rays Trail 0-2; Game 3 Entry Down to $536

With the Tampa Bay Rays trailing the Milwaukee Brewers 0-2 in the World Series, Tampa-area ticket prices for the Series plunged on October 25. According to ticketing data platform TicketData.com, the entry price for Game 3, to be played October 26 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, had fallen to $536 from $851 three days earlier, a drop of 37%.
The Game 3 entry price had still been as high as $839 on October 24, but after the Brewers won Game 2 by 5-4 that day it slid to $684, then to $600 on the morning of the 25th, and kept falling through the day. Game 4 entry prices dropped 12% in three days to $755, and a potential Game 5 fell 20% to $700.
By contrast, entry prices for the first two games in Milwaukee set World Series records at $2,338 and $2,269, far above the previous record of $1,809 from Game 4 in 2016. The price trend reflects local fans cooling on tickets while the home team's comeback prospects remain uncertain.
