Follow-Up: Over 750,000 Turn Out for Brewers Title Parade, Possibly Wisconsin's Largest Single-Day Crowd

Milwaukee, in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, celebrated its first championship in franchise history on October 30, as more than 750,000 people turned out for the Milwaukee Brewers' World Series parade and rally — a crowd the Milwaukee Police Department said may have been the largest single-day event crowd in state history, based on preliminary research.
The parade stepped off at 10 a.m. from 4th Street and Wisconsin Avenue. Players rode in a caravan of buses, high-fiving fans near the Riverside Theater, and paused at the mural of beloved late broadcaster Bob Uecker at 731 N. Jackson Street, where Christian Yelich and World Series MVP William Contreras were among those who paid their respects. The caravan then reached the Summerfest grounds at Henry Maier Festival Park, which hit its 150,000-person capacity by 11:07 a.m., with another roughly 25,000 people in the American Family Insurance Amphitheater for a rally that ran from 12:30 p.m. to about 1:37 p.m.
Manager Pat Murphy told the crowd: 'Our goal was to be the last man standing. There is no way we could have done it without you.' Brewers great Robin Yount recreated his 1982 moment by riding Bob Uecker's motorcycle onto the stage. Uecker died of lung cancer in January 2025 at age 90, and tributes to him ran through the day.
Fans had waited 56 years — the team's entire existence in Milwaukee — for a championship. In 1982, after the Brewers lost the World Series, the city still held a parade that drew an estimated 100,000 people, plus 15,000 at a County Stadium rally; Friday's crowd of more than 750,000 dwarfed that figure and the roughly 100,000 who celebrated the Milwaukee Bucks' NBA title in 2021. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated Milwaukee's population at 562,407 in 2025 — meaning the celebration drew about 188,000 more people than live in the city.
The Brewers clinched every round of this postseason on the road: the Division Series in San Diego against the Padres, the National League pennant in Los Angeles against the Dodgers, and the World Series in Florida, beating the Tampa Bay Rays four games to one. Contreras was named Series MVP after hitting .381 with four RBIs and throwing out four would-be base stealers.
