Lexus Recalls 68,356 NX SUVs: Instrument Panel May Go Blank and Hide Key Warnings

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · Society · GSM News

Toyota is recalling 68,356 Lexus NX SUVs in the United States because a software error in the instrument panel cluster can blank out parts of the display at startup, so warnings for engine oil pressure, coolant temperature and electrical charge may never appear when they are needed. NHTSA received the recall report on October 20 under campaign number 26V687; Toyota's own number is 26LA10.

The recall covers 2022-2024 Lexus NX250, NX350, NX350h and NX450h+ models equipped with the 7-inch combination meter, built from April 8, 2021, through March 28, 2024. According to NHTSA, the vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 101, Controls and Displays: if the engine develops an oil-pressure, coolant-temperature or charging problem, the driver may get no warning at all, which increases the risk of a crash. Toyota said it opened its investigation after receiving reports of blank meter displays dating back to 2023.

No parts need to be replaced. Dealers will update the combination meter software free of charge, and Toyota says an over-the-air update may later become available for properly equipped vehicles. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on December 7, 2026.

Owners can check today whether their vehicle is included by entering its VIN in the NHTSA recall lookup, or call Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 and reference recall number 26LA10.
