Vice President Vance rallies in Topeka on the evening of Oct. 26 for Republican Sen. Marshall's re-election

Monday, October 26, 2026 · States · GSM News

Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas — U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance came to Topeka on the evening of Oct. 26 for a rally at a manufacturing plant in support of Republican Sen. Roger Marshall's re-election campaign. It was Vance's second trip to Kansas for Marshall in under two months; he previously campaigned for him in Olathe on Sept. 14.

That afternoon, Air Force Two carrying Vance landed at Forbes Field south of Topeka, and the motorcade proceeded to the rally site in north Topeka. Speaking before Vance took the stage, Marshall urged Republican voters to match Democratic enthusiasm during early voting. He said early voting had begun, Democratic voters were turning out enthusiastically, and Republicans must match them.

Kansas' U.S. Senate race is among the closely watched contests in this year's midterms; Marshall's opponent is Democratic candidate Adam Hamilton. Just a week earlier, President Trump also came to Kansas to campaign for Marshall. Hamilton's campaign said the procession of national Republican leaders shows the party is worried about Marshall's prospects. Voting day is Nov. 3.
