Rhode Island Comic Con Opens Nov. 6: Michael Douglas Makes His First-Ever Convention Appearance
Rhode Island Comic Con will take place November 6-8 in Providence, in Rhode Island's Providence County, across three venues: the Amica Mutual Pavilion, the Rhode Island Convention Center and the Omni Providence Hotel. Show hours are Friday 3-9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The headline draw this year is Michael Douglas. The organizers have announced that Douglas will appear on November 6 and 7 for limited autograph and photo sessions, the first fan convention appearance of his 50-year career.
The final guest announcement was wrestler and actor John Cena, who will attend on Sunday, November 8 only, with limited autograph and photo slots. The guest list also includes Christina Ricci, Mick Foley, four voice actors from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and Star Wars actors including Temuera Morrison and Billy Dee Williams.
The organizers have also posted cancellations: author R. L. Stine and actors George Takei, John Ratzenberger, Ariel Winter and Dan Fogler will not attend this year, and the convention's guest page carries live updates. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and the venue box office; details are at the Rhode Island Comic Con official site.
