Follow-Up: Halle Berry Testifies as Ex Olivier Martinez Briefly Leaves Courtroom; No Ruling Yet in Restraining Order Hearing

The Los Angeles County Superior Court hearing on Olivier Martinez's application for a domestic violence restraining order against Halle Berry entered its second day on Tuesday, October 20, with Berry herself taking the stand in closed testimony, Page Six reported. Judge Shelley Kaufman had ordered the courtroom closed for any testimony involving the couple's minor son.
According to Page Six, Martinez at one point stormed out of the courtroom during the closed testimony, looking agitated and distressed alongside his lawyer, Patrick Baghdaserians, with whom he held an animated discussion before returning roughly five minutes later. Jon Hay, a staff member at the school attended by the couple's 13-year-old son, Maceo, was set to testify in closed court on Tuesday; a recent court filing said Hay had previously raised concerns about Maceo's behavior at school. Martinez was also scheduled to testify.
The case stems from Martinez's allegation that Berry physically abused Maceo on September 26, putting her hands around his neck and choking him, after which he sought a restraining order and sole custody of the boy. A judge granted a temporary restraining order on October 1, curtailing Berry's time with her son to court-ordered visits. Berry has adamantly denied the claims through her attorney, Marina Beck, who called the filing "entirely meritless and deliberately misleading." On Monday, the first day of the hearing, Maceo testified in person for nearly four hours, and Berry's 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, is expected to testify later this week.
As of the close of Tuesday's session, the judge had made no ruling on the restraining order application, and the hearing remains ongoing.
