Kansas Governor Candidate Jeff Colyer Launches $1.1 Million Ad Buy Centered on 'Every Kansan'; Democrats Call It an Image Piece

Former Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer, a Republican candidate for governor, launched a $1.1 million television, streaming and radio ad buy on October 29 centered on the theme 'Every Kansan,' spotlighting health care, rural development and taxpayer protection. Colyer served as governor in 2018-2019 after Sam Brownback resigned to become an ambassador, lost the 2018 Republican primary, and is running again in 2026, saying he is better equipped to care for every Kansan.
Democrats call the buy an image ad and argue that what Kansas needs is targeted investment in education and rural health care; Republicans say his message appeals across party lines. Kansas has alternated parties in the governor's office, and turnout in smaller cities, the suburbs and farm communities will decide the race.
