Temecula's Great Oak Trail Lighting Project Starts November 2: Wolf Creek Trail to Close in Four Phases Through February 2027

The Public Works Department of Temecula, in Riverside County, California, has announced in its latest traffic restrictions report that the Great Oak Trail Lighting Project will officially begin on Monday, November 2. Work covers the Great Oak Multi-Use Trail from Loma Linda Road to Deer Hollow Way and will proceed in four phases, with the trail closing in sections as construction advances.
The four phases are: Phase One, Loma Linda Road to Wolf Creek Drive North; Phase Two, Wolf Creek Drive North to Wolf Valley Road; Phase Three, Wolf Valley Road to Wolf Creek Drive South; and Phase Four, Wolf Creek Drive South to Deer Hollow Way. The contractor is Vido Samarzich Construction. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and completion is estimated for February 2027.
The city advises trail users to watch for closure signs in each phase and to plan routes around the Wolf Creek community during work hours. Once finished, the lighting project will improve nighttime conditions along the Great Oak Trail.
The schedule appears in the October 29 update of the Public Works Department's Traffic Restrictions in Progress (TRIP) Report. Other active city projects include the citywide slurry seal program in the Harveston and Wolf Creek communities (estimated completion December) and finishing work on EMWD's Southern Wine Country Sewer Project on De Portola Road (estimated completion November).
