Bones Found in Yard of Philadelphia Home Tied to Missing Women

Friday, October 16, 2026 · City · GSM News

Philadelphia is a city in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania (a consolidated city-county). Investigators found bones on October 15 in the backyard of a home at 417 West Chew Avenue in Philadelphia's Olney neighborhood, and the city's Medical Examiner's Office was called in to examine them, law enforcement sources said. As of October 16 reports, it had not been determined whether the bones are human or animal, or whether they are connected to the case linked to the property; animal bones had previously been found at the site.

The home has been linked to seven missing women. Police have said video and photo evidence suggests former owner Raymond Horsch, who died in 2025 at age 82, may have been involved in the deaths of five women. His son Eugene, the current owner, was arrested in June on separate charges and has not been charged in the disappearances. Crews have been excavating large portions of the backyard with heavy equipment, digging about three feet deep; luminol testing on October 12 produced a positive reaction requiring further forensic analysis, and DNA locations found this week have not yet been attributed. The excavation is expected to continue through October 21.
