Dutch Poll: New Party PRO Leads With 29 Seats as Governing Parties Fall Short

A Peil.nl voting-intention poll with fieldwork ending October 2 put the new party PRO first in seat projections for the Netherlands' 150-seat House of Representatives, with 29 seats, followed by JA21 with 20, the PVV with 19 and D66 with 18.
Behind them came Forum for Democracy with 13 seats, the Christian Democrats (CDA) and the liberal VVD with 12 each, 50Plus with five, the Party for the Animals and the Socialist Party with four each, and the Christian Union, Denk, SGP and Volt with three each, while the Farmer-Citizen Movement (BBB) took two.
On this poll, the parties currently in government would win only about 28% of parliamentary seats, well short of a majority. The Dutch party landscape remains highly fragmented, and any future coalition would require several parties.
Dutch coalition-building is famously lengthy, and shifting polls show the electorate still realigning. Housing, healthcare and immigration remain voters' top concerns, according to recent Dutch surveys.
