Brussels Airport Warns of Fewer Trains During Rail Works, 3-18 October

Brussels Airport has warned passengers that fewer trains will run to and from the airport from 3 to 18 October 2026 because of railway works. Travellers heading toward Leuven, Hasselt, Tienen, Landen and Liège will be particularly affected, and the airport advises planning ahead with the SNCB journey planner.
International services are also affected. The EuroCity service between Brussels-Midi and Rotterdam and the Eurocity Direct service linking Brussels-Midi with Amsterdam Zuid via Antwerp, Rotterdam and Schiphol will follow adjusted schedules or routes. Under the standard timetable, each service runs 16 trains daily in each direction; those frequencies are not guaranteed during the works.
The airport station sits directly beneath the terminal on level minus one. Brussels Airport recommends arriving two hours before a European flight and three hours before an intercontinental flight, following the airline's check-in requirements as well.
The works window overlaps with Belgium's strike and protest calendar in early October, making rail travel unreliable through the first half of the month.
