Cambodia Ends Visa Stickers at Embassies from October 3 in Full Move to E-Visas

Saturday, October 3, 2026 · World News · GSM News

Cambodian embassies and consulates abroad stopped placing visa stickers in passports on October 3, 2026, and now deliver visas electronically only. The Honorary Consulate of Cambodia in Osaka said the move follows directives from Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin issued its own announcement titled 'Cambodia Transitions Fully to e-Visas.'

The change concerns the format of the visa, not who needs one. A visa issued by a mission is now an electronic document rather than a label in a passport page. Visas on arrival at Cambodia's international airports and several land crossings still work, as does the official Cambodia e-Visa portal.

Tourist T visas cost $30 and E visas $35, according to published fee information. Separately, travellers must complete the Cambodia e-Arrival digital card within seven days before arrival; that step is distinct from the visa itself.

For travellers visiting Cambodia for family, business or tourism, visas processed after October 3 are issued electronically and checked against electronic records on arrival. Missions have not issued a unified statement on how previously issued sticker visas are treated during their remaining validity.
