Cambodia to Export 60,000 Tons of Rice to the Philippines Within Three Months

Monday, October 5, 2026 · World News · GSM News

Cambodian rice exporter Signature Rice announced plans to export 60,000 tons of rice to the Philippines within three months, with a further 100,000 tons targeted for 2027 and a long-term supply partnership envisioned, Cambodianess reported on October 5. The story was originally written in Khmer for ThmeyThmey.

The Philippines is a major regional rice market, with demand of about 5.5 million tons in 2026 and a longstanding reliance on imports. Cambodian fragrant rice is known internationally for its aroma and quality, and the Philippine market offers Cambodian millers growth beyond their traditional buyers.

Signature Rice, a member of Cambodia's Heritage Group, has exported rice since 2009 to 36 countries on four continents. The company manages a field-to-port supply chain, working through agricultural contracts with farming communities in Preah Vihear, Kampong Thom, Battambang, Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey and other provinces to secure origin, volume and quality.

The company follows a zero-waste principle and holds an Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies certificate as Cambodia's first green rice mill. For hundreds of thousands of Cambodian rice-farming households, large export orders feed directly into farm-gate prices next season, and the Philippine route also opens new logistics and distribution opportunities for Chinese traders in Cambodia's farm sector.
