Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival Returns to Central Harbourfront Oct 29–Nov 1 with 340-Plus Booths; Tasting Passes on Sale from October 12

HONG KONG — The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) announced on October 8 that its flagship Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival will run for four days from Thursday, October 29 to Sunday, November 1 at the Central Harbourfront Event Space and Tamar Park, under the theme "The World at Its Best". Organised by the HKTB with the Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB) as co-organiser, the festival will be followed in November by a Hong Kong Food Month, extending the city's food-and-wine calendar across a full month.
This year's festival is bigger than last year's, with more than 340 booths — up over 10% — and the site extended into Tamar Park. Wines and foods from about 31 countries and regions will be featured, with the Australia, Canada and Korea pavilions making their debut. New guided wine tours and tasting experiences are being introduced, and opening hours on Friday and Saturday will extend to 1am for the first time. HKTB Chairman Dr Peter Lam said this year's line-up is the festival's strongest yet, and that pairing it with the November Food Month aims to encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more, creating business for the trade.
Highlights include a Grand Wine Pavilion pouring rarities such as Château Lafite Rothschild 2016 and a 1982 Mouton Rothschild, Spain's Vega Sicilia Único 2015 and Italy's Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2013; a Hotel Boulevard with signature dishes from 26 hotels; an AMEX Gourmet Club line-up of Michelin- and Black Pearl-honoured restaurants totalling 15 stars and five diamonds; and a Tasting Room where five chefs from Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas will present a ten-hands dinner themed "A Taste of Time". A coffee garden will serve non-alcoholic options, and for the first time used cooking oil from the venue will be collected with EcoCeres and converted into sustainable aviation fuel.
Tickets: admission is HK$40 per person and tasting tokens are HK$25 each. The Tasting Pass (eight tokens and a standard wine glass) is HK$258 at the online advance price, and the Grand Tasting Pass (16 tokens) is HK$558. Tasting passes and Tasting Room tickets go on public sale from October 12, with an American Express priority window from October 7 to 11. Opening hours are 7:30pm to midnight on October 29, 1pm to 1am on October 30, and 1pm to midnight on October 31 and November 1.
The Hong Kong Food Month follows in November with limited-edition menus and offers at restaurants and bars citywide. Festival-goers can use their ticket stubs for offers at designated merchants, and the HKTB will publish a "Hong Kong Night Bites Map" of late-night dining spots to carry the event's momentum into visitor spending.
