Le Minh Hung's Second Day in Cambodia: Royal Audiences and Calls on Senate and Assembly Leaders

Saturday, October 10, 2026 · World News · GSM News

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's official visit to Cambodia entered its second day on October 10. Under the programme published by Agence Kampuchea Presse, he was granted royal audiences with King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, and paid courtesy calls on Senate President Hun Sen and National Assembly President Khuon Sudary.

The royal and parliamentary courtesies are a fixed feature of high-level Vietnam-Cambodia exchanges, signalling how the two countries frame their relationship as one of good neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation. Joint preparations are under way for the 2027 friendship year marking 60 years of diplomatic ties, with youth and young-leader exchanges among the priorities.

The previous day at the Peace Palace, the two prime ministers had witnessed six cooperation documents and reaffirmed the $20 billion trade goal. The second day's programme extended that momentum to the royal, parliamentary and social levels, opening political channels for ministerial follow-up.

Vietnam and Cambodia share a long border with frequent movement between border provinces, and a sizeable Vietnamese community lives in Cambodia. For overseas Vietnamese and cross-border Chinese trading families, the density of high-level visits is itself a barometer of a stable trading environment.
