Asian Glow Fest Ends Sunday at Lake Elsinore's Elm Grove Beach: Free Entry, Lantern Release at 8 P.M.
Lake Elsinore is a city in Riverside County, California. The Asian Glow Fest, a water lantern and kite festival, runs October 17 to 18 at Elm Grove Beach in Lake Elsinore, with its final day on Sunday, October 18, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., at 500 W. Lakeshore Drive, Lake Elsinore. Entry is free for all ages, according to the organizer's Eventbrite listing.
Organizers describe an Asian food market, music and entertainment, and kite flying, with a community water-lantern release at about 8 p.m. Attendees may optionally buy a $20 water lantern (battery LED, retrieved by staff afterward); no lantern purchase is required to attend. Lake Elsinore is one of the eight Temecula-area communities, and the festival is among the large public outdoor events in the area this weekend.
Participants may write wishes or drawings on their lanterns before the communal release; the lanterns are a floating design lit by battery LEDs rather than open flame. The organizer posts updates on social media at @AsianglowfestCA.
