San Diego County Opens 2027-28 Community Development Block Grant Applications; Deadline Oct. 30
San Diego County is accepting applications for 2027-2028 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding until 3 p.m. on October 30, 2026. The federal funds support public facilities, infrastructure, affordable housing acquisition and preservation, neighborhood enhancement, and limited public services in the county's unincorporated area.
The county said funded projects must benefit low- and moderate-income residents and meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development rules and the goals of the county's Five-Year Consolidated Plan. Only public entities and tax-exempt nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply, and the program is administered by the county's Housing and Community Development Services department.
Applicants in Coronado, Del Mar, Imperial Beach, Lemon Grove, Poway and Solana Beach apply through their own city housing departments.
