Janoo Again Leads Gov. Scott in Fundraising as Vermont Campaign Hits Home Stretch

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amanda Janoo again led Republican Gov. Phil Scott in fundraising as the Vermont campaign hit its home stretch, Seven Days reported, based on campaign finance filings covering the period through October 12.
Scott's campaign is also benefiting from $400,000 the Republican Governors Association donated to an independent-expenditure PAC, A Stronger Vermont, which is running television advertisements criticizing Janoo and praising the governor. The Vermont Democratic Party condemned the influx of outside money in a press release this week.
The candidates are scheduled to hold their first two debates next week. In the lieutenant governor's race, incumbent John Rodgers raised $75,000 between September 29 and October 12, while Democratic challenger Molly Gray took in $41,000 but still holds almost $123,000 on hand.
