Zelenskyy Floats Ukraine-U.S.-Russia Meeting at December G20 Summit in Miami; Neither Washington nor Moscow Has Confirmed

KYIV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he hopes a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States and Russia could take place on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Miami this December, Reuters reported on October 17. The idea has not been confirmed by either Washington or Moscow.
Zelenskyy said Ukrainian negotiators had spoken with U.S. officials on Friday, October 16. Alternative venues outside the summit include Europe, or Middle Eastern countries repeatedly floated by the U.S. side — the United Arab Emirates or Saudi Arabia. An earlier plan involving a change of venue was cancelled.
Zelenskyy also said Europe needs its own negotiating track with Russia. He added that since the Starlink satellite system imposed speed restrictions, Ukraine has been unable to use its interceptor drones, a problem that did not arise in tests conducted inside the European Union.
