[Video] Follow-Up: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Now Streaming All 10 Episodes: Hideo Kojima Cameo Revealed, Game Update 2.5 Arrives October 22
GSM reported on October 17 that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 was set for an October 20 Netflix debut, with Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu voicing Kiril Yang in the English dub. The series has now premiered worldwide on Netflix at 12:00 a.m. PDT on October 20, with all 10 episodes released at once. In a last-minute announcement, GameSpot reported that the show's official account said on October 19 that game creator Hideo Kojima will make a voice cameo as the character Hideyoshi Oshima.
Kai Ikarashi directs the season in his series directorial debut, having directed the acclaimed sixth episode of the first season. CD PROJEKT RED VP of Franchise Bartosz Sztybor serves as showrunner, writer and producer, with Masahiko Otsuka on the script, Ichigo Kanno as lead character designer and Tsuneo Imahori composing the music. The opening theme is The Cure's "10:15 Saturday Night" and the ending theme is Petite Meller's "Watson."
The season follows an entirely new crew: Weak Kingsley, a veteran edgerunner once known as "King" who now lives without chrome (voiced by Clancy Brown in English and Kentaro Tone in Japanese); D, a Snake Nation nomad netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan (Nazeeh Tarsha / Koki Uchiyama); Roman Carax, a young cinephile filming Night City on analog film (Valeria Rodriguez / Momoka Terasawa); and Talia Yang, raised in corpo towers and hardened by the Maelstrom gang (Kimoy Lee / Akari Kito).
In a last-minute announcement, GameSpot reported that the show's official account said on October 19 that game creator Hideo Kojima will make a voice cameo as the character Hideyoshi Oshima. Separately, Insider Gaming reported that the Cyberpunk 2077 game itself will receive an Update 2.5 on October 22 featuring content tied to the new series.
The first Cyberpunk: Edgerunners season debuted on September 13, 2022, reached the Netflix Top 10 in 19 countries and drove renewed interest in the game, which has sold more than 40 million copies. A second season was confirmed in July 2025, and the release date was announced at this year's Anime NYC.
