Philadelphia: Follow-Up: Two More Mail Ballot Drop Boxes Added, Bringing New Total to Four

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · City · GSM News

Philadelphia — In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia City Commissioners announced on October 20 that two additional mail ballot drop boxes have been installed and opened, at the Falls of Schuylkill Library (3501 Midvale Avenue) and the Fox Chase Library (501 Rhawn Street). Together with the Houston Playground (900 Grakyn Lane) and Torresdale Boys Club (4509 Linden Avenue) boxes opened on October 17, the city has now added four new drop boxes for the 2026 general election, covering areas including Northwest and Northeast Philadelphia.

The commissioners note that the drop boxes are only for returning completed mail ballots; they are not voter registration sites or in-person polling places, and voters cannot pick up a ballot or register at a drop box.

Key Pennsylvania dates for the 2026 midterms: voter registration closed on October 19; applications for a mail ballot close at 5 p.m. on October 27; and completed ballots must be received by the voter's county election office by 8 p.m. on November 3. On Election Day, Philadelphia polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (GSM, based on the Philadelphia City Commissioners)
