Sheriff's Homicide Bureau Assists Arcadia Shooting Death Investigation: Girl Found Fatally Shot Inside Home

A fatal shooting inside a home was reported on Oct. 22 in Arcadia, a city in Los Angeles County, California. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) said in a Nixle alert that its Homicide Bureau is assisting the Arcadia Police Department with a shooting death investigation in the 800 block of West Huntington Drive.
According to the Arcadia Police Department, as reported by local media, officers responded at about 11 a.m. to a report of an armed man who had fired a weapon inside a residence. Officers found a girl fatally shot inside the home, and the man who reportedly fired the weapon had fled before officers arrived. Arcadia authorities did not release the victim's age or identity, nor the status of the man.
In a related incident, Pasadena police responded the same day near South Arroyo Parkway and East Glenarm Street, where one person suffered a serious self-inflicted gunshot wound; Pasadena city officials said the incident stemmed from the unfolding case in Arcadia.
The investigation is being handled with the assistance of the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau. LASD had not released additional details as of publication.
