Horowitz Couple Gives $150 Million for Nevada's First Stand-Alone Children's Hospital

LAS VEGAS — Intermountain Foundation announced on October 23 that Nevada's first stand-alone children's hospital will be named the Intermountain Health Felicia and Ben Horowitz Children's Hospital in honor of a historic $150 million commitment from venture capitalist Ben Horowitz and his wife, Felicia Horowitz. It is one of the largest gifts made to a children's hospital in the United States.
The hospital is expected to break ground next week and open in 2030 at the UNLV Harry Reid Research and Technology Park in southwest Las Vegas. The commitment will help recruit leading pediatric providers, grow specialized programs, advance research and address gaps such as behavioral health, as Nevada families still face significant barriers to specialized pediatric care. Felicia Horowitz is president of the Horowitz Family Foundation and co-founder and president of The Paid in Full Foundation; Ben Horowitz is co-founder and general partner of Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).
David Flood, chief development officer of Intermountain Health and president of Intermountain Foundation, said the gift propels pediatric care in Nevada 10 to 15 years into the future. The project is part of the Nevada Campaign for Kids, co-chaired by MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle and Wendy Hornbuckle.
