On October 24, the University of Alabama football team defeated Texas A&M 31-20 at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, ending a two-game losing streak. The game was also Alabama's 105th homecoming game, played before a capacity crowd.

Alabama trailed 20-17 at the end of the third quarter, but a 14-0 fourth quarter completely turned the game around: Texas A&M's three fourth-quarter possessions all came up empty and gained only 15 yards. Quarterback Keelon Russell completed 19 of 30 passes for 311 yards and three touchdown passes, with one interception, while wide receiver Rico Scott caught six passes for 156 yards, a career single-game high. Daniel Hill caught a touchdown pass late in the first half, and Caleb Edwards and Marshall Pritchett each caught touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Alabama gained 379 yards in all.

With the win, Alabama improved to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the Southeastern Conference, while Texas A&M fell to 4-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Both teams have a bye week next; Alabama's next game is on the road at Louisiana State University on November 7.
