Sunday, October 25, 2026 · States · GSM News

October 25 was the deadline for federal Individual Assistance applications for the storms and flooding that began in Indiana on August 11. According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, October 25 was the final day to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance, with counties including Hamilton County eligible; qualifying homeowners and renters could apply for uninsured losses to a primary home, personal property losses and post-disaster emergency needs through DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. Hamilton County's flood recovery page had listed October 26 as the deadline, but state disaster pages repeatedly stated October 25, and local media advised residents to follow the earlier date to avoid missing out. As of October 23, $154 million in federal Individual Assistance had been paid or obligated statewide, more than 35,900 applications had been approved, and the National Flood Insurance Program had paid policyholders $25.7 million. Hamilton County's Disaster Unemployment Assistance deadline is October 27, and the SBA physical property disaster loan deadline was also October 25.
