Ohio high school football playoff pairings out October 25; top 12 in each region advance, first round October 30
On October 25, the Ohio High School Athletic Association released the final computer ratings and first-round pairings for the 2026 high school football playoffs, with the top 12 teams in each region advancing. Under the format, the top four seeds in each region receive a first-round bye and will host first-round winners in the second round; seeds five through eight host seeds nine through twelve in the first round. First-round games are set for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, except where noted. The playoffs run through December 3-5, when all seven state championship games will again be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton — the sixth straight year that venue has hosted every title game. Ohio's high school football playoffs span multiple divisions and regions statewide, and with pairings out, teams have a week to prepare. Organizers advised fans to rely on the association's official pairings and kickoff times, as individual games may shift. From the first round onward, every result decides whether a team's run toward a state championship continues.
