Colorado: Broncos Cornerback Pat Surtain Practices Fully All Week, Poised to Return Sunday Against the Chiefs
Follow-up: Denver, Colorado — The Denver Broncos received good news on Oct. 30: All-Pro cornerback Pat Surtain was a full participant in practice all week and is poised to return for the key Nov. 1 Sunday home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Surtain sprained his ankle in Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers and has missed three straight games, during which the Broncos went 2-1 without him. After Thursday's practice, Surtain said he was glad to be back in front of the home fans, especially in a game with so much at stake. It is the second straight season in which he has missed several consecutive games through injury; last season he missed three games with a shoulder injury.
Sunday's game is at Empower Field at Mile High, and the winner could take the lead in the AFC West. His return is crucial to containing the Chiefs' offense. The team has not formally confirmed his game status, but a full week of practice is a strong signal of a return.
