Saturday, October 31, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

Pittsburgh defeated Georgia Tech 34-11 on Saturday night, October 31, at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, improving to 6-3 while the Yellow Jackets fell to 2-6 in Week 9 of the college football season.

Pittsburgh built a two-score lead before halftime: Antonio Chadha opened the scoring with a 45-yard field goal, Damon Ferguson Jr. capped a 15-play, 86-yard drive with a 3-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter, and La'Vell Wright scored on a direct snap to make it 17-0. Georgia Tech got on the board only through Aidan Birr's 49-yard field goal before the break.

After a Pittsburgh field goal made it 20-3 in the third quarter, Georgia Tech quarterback Alberto Mendoza fumbled a handoff that Pittsburgh recovered. In the fourth quarter, Catarus Hicks caught a 30-yard touchdown pass for 27-3; Georgia Tech's Grady Adamson answered with an 18-yard rushing touchdown and a two-point conversion for 27-11, the visitors' only touchdown of the night.

With 3:28 left, Ferguson Jr. finished an eight-play, 44-yard drive with his second rushing touchdown to close out the 34-11 win. Pittsburgh's defense intercepted three passes on the night, including Trae Stevenson's fourth-quarter pick, the third of the game, which halted Georgia Tech's late push.
