Carnival of the Animals Family Concert on March 6 With the San Diego Symphony
The Jacobs Music Center in San Diego, San Diego County, California, hosts the family concert Carnival of the Animals: Music on the Wild Side on March 6, 2027, at 11 a.m. Conductor Chad Goodman leads the San Diego Symphony in Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals, a musical trip to the zoo for young listeners.
Written in 1886, the Carnival's fourteen short movements portray lions, hens, wild donkeys, tortoises, an elephant, kangaroos and a swan; the cello solo The Swan is among the most famous melodies in classical music. Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee and Rossini's William Tell overture are also on the program. The one-hour concert closes this season's family series, is designed for ages 6 to 12, and is preceded by an hour of craft activities.
The venue is the Jacobs Music Center, 1245 Seventh Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. Tickets are sold through the orchestra's official channels.
