San Diego Symphony's Feb. 13 Concert for Toddlers Puts Percussion Center Stage
The Jacobs Music Center in San Diego, San Diego County, California, hosts Meet the Percussion: One, Two, Buckle My Shoe on Feb. 13, 2027, at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., two 30-minute performances in the San Diego Symphony's Symphony Kids series, designed for children ages 0 to 5.
The concert puts the orchestra's percussion section center stage: timpani, bass drum, xylophone and a battery of instruments demonstrate rhythm and timbre for the youngest listeners. The sensory-friendly series was developed with San Diego State University's autism center, and children are free to move, clap along and make noise.
Symphony Kids runs four programs this season, introducing the string, brass, percussion and wind sections in turn. The venue is the Jacobs Music Center, 1245 Seventh Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. Tickets are sold through the orchestra's official channels.
Founded in 1910, the San Diego Symphony is California's oldest orchestra, with 82 full-time musicians.
