Miles Davis at 100: San Diego Revives the 1958 Album Milestones in Full on Nov. 28
The Jacobs Music Center in San Diego, San Diego County, California, hosts Miles Davis' Milestones on Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m.: marking the 2026 centenary of Miles Davis' birth, a jazz ensemble recreates his 1958 album Milestones in full.
Trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, who curates the San Diego Symphony's Jazz @ The Jacobs series, leads the band, joined by alto saxophonist Antonio Hart, tenor saxophonist Ralph Moore and pianist Joshua White, among others. The program includes the album's Straight, No Chaser, Dr. Jekyll and Billy Boy. Recorded in 1958, Milestones is a landmark of Davis' turn toward modal jazz.
San Diego's Young Lions Jazz Conservatory performs before the concert. The venue is the Jacobs Music Center, 1245 Seventh Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. Tickets are sold through the orchestra's official channels.
It is the first of three full-album recreations in this season's jazz series; the later concerts revisit classic albums by Billie Holiday and Lee Morgan.
