Hawaii's Monthly Siren Test Set for November 2: One-Minute Attention Signal, No Exercise
The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency announced that the monthly test of the statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System is scheduled for Monday, November 2, at 11:45 a.m., coordinated with a test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System.
During the test, all statewide outdoor warning sirens will sound a one-minute Attention Alert Signal (steady tone), and the broadcast test will run at roughly the same time in cooperation with the Hawaii broadcast industry. No exercise or drill will accompany the test.
The siren system is part of Hawaii's Statewide Alert and Warning System, used to notify the public during emergencies. City and County of Honolulu residents can report siren issues at 808-723-8960.
