Singapore: Capital.com Wins MAS Securities Licence Approval, Singapore Unit Led by Former IG Asia Chief Tony Lim

Online trading platform Capital.com announced on November 2, in a regulatory filing, that its Singapore business has received approval for a securities licence, a capital markets services licence, from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The licence was approved late last month, the company said.
The filing says the Singapore unit's licence covers dealing in capital markets products, including securities, collective investment schemes and over-the-counter derivatives, and that Capital.com also received a licence to provide custodial services. The Singapore entity is led by chief executive Tony Lim, the former chief executive of IG Asia.
The MAS regulates institutions conducting capital markets activities in Singapore, and licensees must meet ongoing capital, compliance and client-asset protection requirements. The approval allows Capital.com to offer dealing in those products and custodial services to clients in Singapore under the local licensing framework.
