The Chinese-American Federation of Arts and Culture announced on September 8 that the Chinese American Music Festival, launched in Dallas in 2026, is building toward 2027 with the goal of growing from a single event into a lasting platform for cross-cultural music exchange. Dallas is in Dallas County, Texas. The federation said the next phase will broaden artist participation, strengthen original and traditional music programming, and create more collaboration opportunities for young musicians, educators and cultural organizations, making music a long-term bridge for people-to-people exchange between the United States and China.

The festival was initiated and chief-planned by Eric HZ (Hechen Zhao), the federation's founder and chair, with Christian TJ (Tangyu Jin), the federation's president and CEO of Notes Entertainment Group, serving as president of the festival. The inaugural festival introduced its core honors program, the Jinsheng (AUREVO) Awards, recognizing artistic achievement and contributions to music and cultural exchange. Honorees included Sha Baoliang, who received the Outstanding Contribution Award for China-U.S. arts and culture exchange; guzheng artist Yuan Sha, who received the Traditional Music Global Communication Award; Song Yuzhe, who received the Emerging Original Music Award; and erhu performer Chen Yimiao, who received the Young Artist Heritage and Innovation Award.

The inaugural festival also received a congratulatory letter from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States, recognizing music's role in deepening mutual understanding, and Congressional Recognition from U.S. Representative Judy Chu for promoting cultural exchange and community understanding. The federation said the festival's long-term goal is not a once-a-year event but a lasting platform that connects musicians and audiences in both countries through artist exchange, youth development and traditional music programs, adding a stable fixture to the cultural life of Dallas's Chinese community.
