AP Calls Three South Florida House Races for Gilbert, Moskowitz and Gimenez

MIAMI, Florida — Results in South Florida's congressional races rolled in on the night of November 3, and the Associated Press, NBC and CNN have all called the seats in the 24th, 25th and 28th districts.
In the 24th District, Democrat Oliver Gilbert won with about 81 percent of the vote. The seat was held by Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson, who did not seek re-election and had endorsed Gilbert, a former mayor of Miami Gardens. The district covers Miami Gardens, North Miami and Opa-Locka, among other communities.
In the 25th District, Democrat Jared Moskowitz won with about 51 percent of the vote; the Associated Press called his race at 8:07 p.m. Eastern. The district, reshaped in Florida's mid-decade redistricting, runs from coastal Miami-Dade County into Palm Beach County. In the 28th District, Republican incumbent Rep. Carlos Gimenez won with about 53 percent; the district includes Homestead and Monroe County.
South Florida polls were open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 3, and voters in line by 7 p.m. could still vote. Miami-Dade County voters also decided local measures including a $450 million public safety bond. All results remain unofficial until certification.
