DART Offers Free Rides Across Its System on Election Day
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, announced that all buses, trains and paratransit services across its service area will be free on Election Day, November 3, to remove transportation barriers for voters heading to the polls.
In its October 27 announcement, DART said free Election Day rides are a long-standing practice to support voter participation; riders should be ready to show a voter registration card or government-issued ID. GoLink riders can enter the promo code VOTENOV3 in the DART GoPass app for a free adult local day pass, and paratransit riders must schedule their November 3 trip in advance by calling 214-515-7272.
Dallas County election officials remind voters that polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., registered county voters may vote at any vote center in the county, and anyone in line by 7 p.m. may still vote. Details are at dart.org/vote.
