Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei Attends Indonesian National Day Reception: China-Indonesia Community With a Shared Future to Go Deeper
On November 2, 2026, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei attended, at the invitation of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, a reception marking Indonesia's National Day, and met with Indonesian Ambassador to China Zhou Haoli.
Hong congratulated Indonesia on the 81st anniversary of its National Day and said that, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Prabowo Subianto, China-Indonesia relations have maintained sound momentum, and that on the road to national prosperity and rejuvenation, China and Indonesia have always been like-minded good friends and good partners for mutual benefit. China is ready to work with Indonesia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, continue to deepen high-level strategic mutual trust, consolidate the five-pillar cooperation framework, and push for deeper and more substantive progress in building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future.
Zhou said he had personally witnessed the continuous deepening of Indonesia-China relations in recent years, with close high-level exchanges and fruitful cooperation in trade, economic and people-to-people fields that has tangibly benefited both peoples. Indonesia is ready to work with China to carry forward the traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, and push bilateral relations to new and greater development.
